My friends and I started skateboarding again last summer. Our crew is called Celebrity Hot Tub. Here’s a very romantic, short version of our video Learn Your ABD’s, lovingly edited by Kyle Thomas. I don’t skate much in it because I’m the worst. I really like the SNL style closeups at the end. We are such good friends.

Last night was the Annual General Meeting of the Manitoba Skateboard Coalition. (I’m a member and so should you be.) The coalition does a lot of great work for the skateboarding community here in Manitoba, organizing contests and events and representing the interests of skateboarders in the political world. They do good work.
Another thing they’ve done is put together a video/website with Travel Manitoba to present our province as a possible tourist destination for skateboarders. A bunch of my homies worked on this video and skate in it. Also all of the music comes from Manitoban bands, which is nice.
Some of you may not know this but this website has existed in one form or another for over 5 years. In terms of “the internet” that is pretty long, a year before youtube even.
Anyways, this is what the site looked like in what was potentially the best time of my life…

Landen and I went skateboarding the other day. To the new Fort Gary park. Let me tell you, Landy and I are somewhat past our prime in terms of skateboarding, but it was still really fun.
Also my new roommate Evan and I finally got a grindbox for our front street. So that’s fun too. I’ll try to blog some skating next time there’s a sesh.
It’s still my goal to film one trick for this year’s Wreck video. I need to practice more.

COLOR is a canadian skateboarding and art magazine. In their newest issue they’ve done a profile on the house I used to live in. ”The Mansion” (a name I coined, no biggie) has held a lot of skateboarders and artists over the years and has a bit of notoriety around Winnipeg. I made it into a photo, I’m the guy on the far left throwing up the “Peace”.
I’ve gotten into skateboarding again. Every Monday night I’m a volunteer at The Edge Skatepark and have been quite enjoying it lately.
I’m really looking forward to summer. My goal is to film one trick for the new Wreck video. Also I just want to have fun cruising like in this video… (Poached from Leigh.)
P.S. I really want to live in Europe for a couple of years.
