Le Tigre, you were loved

Today my cat Le Tigre was hit by a car and killed. It was quick. She did not suffer.

My True Love

As a kitten she was found in a dumpster, covered in Mustard. She was adopted by my roommates and I when I lived in the Mansion. (See 2 posts down.) She lived the rest of her life in an equally dramatic fashion. She got “Teen Pregnant” when she was one year old, had many lengthy disappearances and had to be bailed out of “Cat Jail” more than once. Over time the rest of her fathers moved out of the Mansion and as her last remaining original father I brought her with me when I left.

She was a lover and a fighter. Those were the only two emotions she had. When she fought she fought hard with teeth and claws and did not hold back. When she loved you there was no question about it…

Whenever she jumped or ran by you she would make this little purr/chirping noise. Often while lying in bed at night I would hear this little noise and feel tiny footsteps on my legs. I’d lift up my blankets a little. She would crawl under the blankets and turn around. I would drop the blankets once more and she would sleep there on my chest, pushing her little cold, wet nose into my neck.

This was the last photo I took of her. Just a few days ago. It was to accompany these drawings of an automatic-cat-door I had dreamed up at work a few weeks back.

I think she lived a happy life. I really did love her a lot and I will really miss her.

  1. i saw those plans today on the table.

the cat wins, she made me cry.

    RIP tigs.

  2. I’m so sorry Luke. The same happened with my cat around this time last year, and it was so so horrible. Le Tigre knows she was loved. She lived in a warm home with lots of food and people who cared for her and she was allowed to be a cat and roam as cats do. Feel better.

  3. Hey Luke – so, so sorry to hear about Le Tigre. I hope you’re otherwise well, take care.

  4. I’m so sorry to hear, Luke :(

  5. A few doors she down she was known as Mittens. Probably the coolest and nicest cat in the entire world — provided you weren’t a mouse she sadistically played with.

  6. le teegs used to spoon with me back in the mansion days! (wait- i still live here?!)

anyways.. at first i couldn’t shut my door because she’d claw on it incessantly, and i suppose that was ok because in the end, once i let her in, she was a great little spoon.

she was a swell little lady, for sure.
