Sometimes my brain has trouble catching up with all of the non-linear conversations in my life. Traditionally I send someone an email asking a question. The recipient then replies in an email with an answer.
When I see a reply from that person my brain usually recalls the question I asked and prepares to receive an answer. I think I have an alright brain but it’s very easy to confuse it by providing it with answers to questions that it isn’t expecting in this context.
Say I text message you asking what time you’re done work. Then you send me a facebook message saying “4:00″. That’s all it says. When I get a message like this my poor brain has no idea what “4:00″ means. Eventually Brainy figures it out but it always throws him for a few seconds. I’m realizing just how much my brain relies on a linear same-medium-to-same-medium scenario to establish a context and recall the right memories.
In an average day I’ll get/send phone calls, texts, emails, facebook messages/wall-posts/picture-comments/status-updates, twitter status-updates/messages and blog posts. I assume eventually Brainy will get used to it. I wonder what my kids will be like. Will this make them better brainstormers?
My Parents were in a really bad car accident. They’re both alive but they were beaten up pretty badly.
Although, they are doing a lot better than anyone expected. Dad is out of the hospital and Mom should be out tomorrow night.
Dad has a broken hand, Mom has a broken pelvis and they both have matching broken ribs. Mom says that her boxing career will have to be put on hold for the moment. (Comedy is genetic.)
Yesterday I went on a hot date with two cute blondes, Zoe and Madeleine. Salvation Army, Value Village, Slices Cheese and Tomato Pizza and my favourite movie Stardust.
I took these photos with my iPhone. Normally the photos are terrible but I started using an application called Darkroom. (Not really new.) It uses the iPhone’s accelerometer and snaps a photo once the camera is still, which is helpful when you have hands as shaky as I have.
