I poached this photo during church last Sunday. (Illegal, I know.) I took it because I wanted to remember the wording of the topmost prayer. I really like that one.
I’ve mentioned that I really like Kanye West’s new CD “808′s and Heartbreak”. Why? I like the melodies. Some of them are sooo catchy. Auto-tune? He’s using it for artistic effect, not to hide his obvious inability to sing. He’s not trying to trick anyone that he’s a good singer. He thinks it sounds cool. Opinions on whether or not it sounds cool may vary. I agree with him. Is he jumping on the Akon, T-Pain, Lil Wayne, etc. bandwagon? Kind of, but he isn’t using this fad to make club-bangers. He’s making this weird electro pop. Whatever. I’m into it.
So I like his tunes. I’ve always heard how insane and arrogant this guy is, but then I watched these videos on VBS.tv. Spike Jonze interviews him about various subjects. What made me like him is the fact that he’s very honest and sooo passionate about creating something great.
I found him inspiring (in a somewhat unrealistic sense). I’m inspired to create something great. I just don’t know what that is right now.
So my director friend Mike McLaughlin sent me an email a little while back. It said that he has a small part for me in his next film and that I play “the guy who is trying to break everyone out of the hospital”.
I don’t know anything else about the film… but that sounds like a pretty great part to me.
Mike last directed me in his short film Sleepless. That was almost 2 years ago now. I haven’t had a haircut since. I’ve blogged this before but I just got a nice high quality version uploaded. Mike McLaughlin has a new short coming out. There’s a trailer on Facebook but nothing I can embed yet. I’ll post it when I get my hands on it though.
Poached this one from Madge Kroeker. I was reminiscing about Paris earlier today, fooling around with Google Street View and found the Hostel that Madge and I stayed in last February. Made me quite nostalgic.
